Lucille Mashburn Meggs, age 94, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Horseshoe Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Tom Currie officiating.  The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

A native of Moore County she was the daughter of the late Thomas & Lula Smith Mashburn.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Houck C. Meggs.

She is survived by her children Larry Meggs of the home, Sam Meggs of Seagrove, Billie Meggs Fox & husband, Gene of Asheboro, Johnny Meggs & wife, Barbara of Carthage, Pat Meggs & wife, Billie of Alabama, Ricky Meggs & wife, Tonya of Carthage and Jan Meggs Tally of Siler City; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Horseshoe Presbyterian Church, 2995 S Carbonton Road, Carthage, NC 28327 or Community Home Care & Hospice, 1836 Doctors Drive, Sanford, NC  27330.
