Joanne Brenner Hassler, age 73 of Aberdeen and formerly of Westerville, OH passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Powell Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Bishop Jim Winkley.

A native of Springfield, OH she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian Taylor Brenner. Joanne retired from Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) as an input technician. She and her husband had recently moved to Moore County to be close to their daughters.

She was preceded in death by her brother Roger Curnutte.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Richard E. Hassler; daughters Tamara Hassler living in Aberdeen, NC and Tricia Hassler living In Kingsport, TN, both formerly of Westerville, OH; grandchildren Xander, Nick and Josh Layne; great-grandchildren Matthew and Charli Layne.
