Joyce Williams Bass, age 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Unity Grove Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Jason Cheek. Burial will follow in the Needhams Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church, beginning at 1:00 PM.

A native of Montgomery County, Joyce worked for over 30 years at Walker Shoe Company.   She was a kind and caring person, with a wonderful smile for everyone. Family time was very important to her. Joyce loved her cats, enjoyed reading and trips to the beach. She was a daughter of the late Herman Alton and Mary Melton Williams and was preceded in death by husbands: Howard Moore and Jimmy Bass; brothers: Ralph and Robert Williams.

Joyce is survived by sister: Susan Davis and husband Harold; brother: Bobby Melton and wife Janice; god son: Travis Stuart and wife Kim; step daughter: Joannie Moore and husband Danny; step son: Tony Bass; god grandchildren: Christopher and Dillan Stuart; step grandson: Macon Moore; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials may be made to Unity Grove Baptist Church, 849 Mount Carmel Road, Carthage, NC 28327 or FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
