Judy Spivey, 71, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC.

Funeral service will be 6:00 pm Thursday, May 30, 2019 at  Putnam Friends Christian Church with the Reverend Robert Kidd officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive prior to the service beginning at 5:00 pm.  You are invited to dress casual for all services.

Judy was the owner of Spivey’s Grocery in Glendon with her husband.  In her later years she worked for ShortStop Stations for 21 years, until her retirement.  She was known for her love of people and laughter and her contagious smile. Judy was the Matriarch of her family, she loved her children and especially her role as Nana.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; William Filmore and Mary Mae Harmon, her husband; J.F. “ Jeff “ Spivey and a son, Joey Spivey; long time companion, James Horton Seagrove,  a sister Maggie Cockman and a brother Stevie Harmon.

Survived by her children; Jonathan Spivey and wife Melissa, Timmy Brady and wife Kim, Richard Brady and wife Chrystail, Allan Spivey and wife Tammy and Teresa McNeill and husband Randy: seven grandchildren; Summer, Sara, Joey, Ashley, Chris,  MiKayla and Brayden; two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Emma. A sister Phyllis Harmon, and brothers: Billy Harmon and wife Wanda, Danny Harmon, Johnny Harmon, Randy Harmon and wife Tammy.  She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

  1. Judy was such a sweet, caring, loving lady. She was beautiful inside and out. When she laughed, you just had to laugh along with her. She was so courageous and humble with her battle with cancer. I will miss her so much, as will the rest of her Short Stop
