Ruth Burnette Marley, 84, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Reverend David Beck officiating.  The family invites you to dress casual for all services.

Ruth was a native of Virginia, but lived most of her life in North Carolina. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.  Ruth believed in the value of work; in her home, in textiles and was an accomplished seamstress for many years. She enjoyed all kinds of craft work,  like crocketting, knitting and quilting. Ruth was proud of all her family and time spent with them was very important, especially with the grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  She cared for her family and her home. Ruth was a daughter of the late William and Bertie Morgan Burnette and was preceded in death by husband: Robert Nathaniel Marley.

Ruth is survived by children: Robert “Bob” Marley, Jr., Clifton “Frank” Marley and wife Jan, Jenean Garner and husband Keith, Marnita Brower and husband Greg;  grandchildren: Jamie Brady, Erica Thompson, Stephen Marley, Victoria Boyd, Clifton Franklin Marley, III, Zachary Garner, Jacob Garner, Ashley King, Bethany Brower; 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, NC.

In lieu of flowers or food memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC.

Kennedy Funeral Home is assisting the Marley family.
