Shelia Ann Brown, 83, passed away in her home on Sunday, August 11, 2019. Coming from a large family, Shelia was one of 11 children. Parents were George English and Alma English Bristow. Originally from Montgomery County, Shelia spent most of her life in Moore County, having moved to Robbins as a child. She married and raised a family of five in Robbins.

Always devoted to family and friends, Shelia is remembered for her kindness and generosity through the years. She was the first to show up with home-cooked meals during times of need. She enjoyed cooking and delivering food when a friend or neighbor was sick. Her children remember her leaving groceries at the doorsteps of friends she knew were having hard times. She wanted and tried to take care of every child, elderly person, or animal that needed a hot meal or a place to sleep and never turned anyone away.

Shelia worked for years and made many lifelong friends at Milliken in Robbins, Lucks in Seagrove, and Carthage Fabrics. In recent years, she has enjoyed being retired and continued to do her best to look out for her neighbors, friends, and family.

Surviving are five adult children: Jerry Brown, Susan Morris, Anthony Brown, Dawn Allred and husband Billy, and Angie Stone and husband Robbie. There are eight grandchildren: Brian Morris and wife Lisa, Jennifer Morris, Aaron Morris and wife Natalie, Clay, Blake, and Skylar Allred, Lexi and Josh Stone. There are three great grandchildren: Michael, Christopher, and Liviana Morris. Shelia is also survived by two brothers: Johnny English and wife Dot, Roger Bristow and wife Anna.

There will be a closed casket visitation at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 6-8 PM.

A graveside service is planned for Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Moore County Humane Society to continue spreading Shelia’s love for animals.

Kennedy Funeral Home is assisting the Brown family.
